Deleting your account

Last updated 17 August 2026

CourtBoard lets you delete your account and your data from inside the app. You do not need to email anyone or wait for a reply.

How to delete your account

  1. Open CourtBoard and sign in.
  2. Go to More → Settings.
  3. Scroll to Danger zone and tap Delete account.
  4. Type DELETE to confirm.

Deletion happens immediately. It cannot be undone, and there is no backup we can restore for you afterwards.

What is deleted depends on your role

If you are a staff member

Your sign-in and your staff record are permanently removed. The office keeps its cases, hearings, clients and documents, because those belong to the office rather than to you. To return, the office owner has to add your number again.

If you are the office owner

You are the account holder for the whole office, so deleting your account erases everything belonging to that office:

If you want the office to continue without you, ask another advocate to take it over before you delete — once deletion runs, nothing can be recovered.

What is kept, and for how long

Records of payments already made are retained where tax and accounting law in India requires it. These contain the subscription amount and date, not your case information. Crash diagnostics, which contain no case data, expire on their own within 90 days.

If you stop paying but do not delete

Letting a subscription lapse is not the same as deleting. The board and diary lock, but your cases stay where they are for 12 months, so a renewal brings everything back exactly as you left it. We write to the office owner 30 days and again 7 days before that period ends. After 12 months the office and all of its records are deleted permanently. To remove your data sooner, use the steps above.

Deleting only some of your data

You do not have to delete the whole account to remove individual records. Inside the app you can delete a single case, client, task or uploaded document at any time, and each one goes for good. If you would rather we removed something for you, email the address below from the account's registered email and tell us what to delete.
